National Geographic State Bee Coordinator in Colorado

Opportunity: National Geographic State Bee Coordinator in Colorado

National Geographic is looking for a champion of geography education who is organized, tech savvy, well-connected, and forward-thinking. The primary responsibility of this position is planning and hosting the Colorado State Bee on Friday, April 1, 2015 at a college or university (the outgoing coordinator has already reserved space at the University of Denver for 2016). The secondary role is elevating the presence of the National Geographic Bee across the state. If selected to fill the role, the first year will be on a trial basis, with the hope that this will become a multiple-year commitment.
This role requires approximately 80 hours of work and excellent delegation skills. There is a modest honorarium associated with the position, and funds to organize and run the Bee. There are also a couple of professional development travel opportunities associated with this role paid for by National Geographic.

If you or someone you know is interested, please reach out to Julie Brown at National Geographic (jbrown@ngs.org).
